A mat near the window

A yoga mat does not need a dedicated room. Choose a floor with daylight, move the chair aside, and let the practice borrow the space for ten minutes.

Claim the corner temporarily

Roll the mat out only for practice and roll it away afterwards. A corner that returns to its ordinary use keeps the household calm and the habit free of negotiation. Note the direction of morning light and face it during standing poses.

Keep a folded blanket nearby for kneeling and a chair within reach for balance. Props that live in the corner invite use; props in a cupboard invite skipping.

Close gently

Finish sitting, back against the wall if the floor is cold, for ten slow breaths. This quiet minute is where relaxation actually begins; the stretches prepare for it.

Roll the mat with the practice still in it, in the sense of remembering two things worth repeating tomorrow and one worth dropping. A small honest ending keeps the sequence personal, and the corner returns to the household without a trace of the morning.
