Let the room wake first
Daylight arriving before screens changes the pace of the first hour. Stand by the window, drink water, and let the eyes adjust to the distance outside. Only then unroll a mat or step onto a rug for slow stretching.
A short sequence of shoulder rolls and forward folds fits the time the kettle needs. The aim is arrival in the day, not a completed yoga class. Stop when the body feels awake rather than worked.
Keep the practice small
Choose two stretches you remember rather than ten you have to look up. Repetition builds calm faster than variety, and a familiar sequence leaves attention free for the light on the walls and the street sounds below.
If the morning is rushed, keep the window minute and move the stretching to the evening. A ritual serves the day; the day does not serve the ritual.
